2.3 5.83″ Manley Sportmaster Rods RWA1671F

$640.00

RWA1671F Manley Sportmaster 5.83″ series rods are an excellent choice for all racing applications. We have used these or  rods in all of our race engines for the past 25 years without a rod failure. These rods are good for 8500 rpm’s all day long. They come with ARP cap screws installed. Sold in sets of 4, but we can also sell them individually. These rods can be used with RWA1562 pistons designed for the 2.3 or if you have a set of our RWA1568 pistons, you can use this combo in the 2.3 engine.

Long Rod Notes:

Fitting longer than stock connecting rods to an engine increases torque and horsepower. They have become standard items in high output race engines (it has to do with the piston spending more time at the top of the cylinder when the spark plug has just fired the fuel, and less has a better rod angle) Advantages include a much lighter piston than is possible with the stock length rod, giving quicker acceleration and less reciprocating piston weight.

  • 5.83″ long .927″ pin diameter .990″ big end width
  • Full floating pin
  • Aircraft quality 4340 alloy forgings
  • Machined cap and outer beam
  • ARP 3/8″ 8740 cap screws
  • Total weight 589 grams
  • Big end weight 432 grams
  • Pin end weight 157 grams
  • 1.87 rod ration (stock 5.2 rod is 1.66)
