Clutch/Flywheel/Pressure Plates

  • RWA 1628T Aluminum flywheel is doubled drilled for both the 2.0 and 2.3 crank pattern, will work with 8.5", 9.0" and 9.5" disc/pressure plates. The flywheel weighs only 9.3 lbs. All of our flywheels are designed, engineered and manufactured in the USA. Machined from the highest quality 6061 T6 Aluminum, each flywheel is manufactured to deliver optimum tensile strength, heat dissipation and weight reduction, without going too light and causing poor idle and driving issues. All our aluminum flywheels are CAD designed/engineered and precision CNC machined from top quality billet aluminum forgings to strict tolerances for optimum performance and reliability. All flywheels are balanced and thoroughly inspected for quality and fitment. Lightweight aluminum flywheels deliver:
    • Faster throttle response and quicker acceleration
    • Additional horsepower to the wheels (reduced parasitic losses)

    • RING GEAR 132 teeth - 1050 STEEL / HEAT TREATED Heat treated for durability. The gears are heated then pressed on and secured with grade 8 button screws.
    • REPLACEABLE FRICTION PLATE - 1045 STEEL The friction surface we use is an incredibly strong 1045 steel.
    • BUTTON SCREWS - GRADE 8 Increased security helping fasten the ring gear to the flywheel.
    • FASTENERS - MILITARY SPEC Military grade aerospace fasteners aid in pulling heat away from the clutch face.
    • STEPPED DOWELS - STEEL Once pressure plate is installed they become locked in place. First in the industry to implement the use of stepped dowels.

This unit is designed for street and race cars that require an aggressive but streetable engagement and high torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Great for street, drag, road racing, pulling, rallye and drift. Good for up to 277 ft lbs of torque. Kit includes:

  • RWA 1636-3 2.0/2.3 Stage III clutch assembly Features a carbon semi-metallic 6 puck sprung hub disc that has been the leading puck clutch in driveability, life and torque capacity. This unit is designed for street and race cars that require an aggressive but streetable engagement and high torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Great for street, drag, road racing, pulling, rallye and drift. This assembly is highly recommended for 2.5/2.7 stroker engines along with mild turbo applications. We use this assembly in one of our 2.7 road race cars with great success. No slipping even after 45 minutes of hard driving. Kit includes:

  • RWA 1636-4 2.0/2.3 Stage IV clutch assembly Features a solid hub kevlar disc with steel backing, that has been the leading puck clutch in driveability, life and torque capacity. This unit is designed for street and race cars that require an aggressive but streetable engagement and high torque capacity. The hub is double sprung with spring cover relieves for flexibility and heat treated components for strength and durability. Great for street, drag, road racing, pulling, rallye and drift. Good for up to 330 ft lbs of torque. Kit includes:

  • RWA1601 7-7/8" Pressure Plate is designed to work with RWA1609-4H 7-7/8" clutch disc. The pressure plate is drilled for 3/8" bolts and works with our RWA 1629D Flywheel. The pressure plate Weighs 8.1 lbs.
  • RWA1600-A 8.5" pressure plate is direct replacement for the stock pressure plate. The RWA1600-A is designed with stiffer springs and can handle more torque and horse power than a stock unit. We have run this pressure plate in our road race cars for seasons at a time without failure.
  • 1629D 2.0/2.3 11 lbs. Light Steel Flywheel. Double drilled for the 7.5", 7 7/8" and 8.5" pressure plates. Uses 3/8" bolts for the attachment of the pressure plate. RWA1625B-3/8. Use the 1625A flywheel bolts to attach the flywheel to the crankshaft. Does not work with the turbo 9" or 9.25" clutch cover plates. A longer throw out bearing is usually required for proper clutch engagement/disengagement. Use  either RWA1634 long throw out bearing or RWA 1634BO bored out long throw out bearing. The RWA1634 works with all the 23 spline 4 speed "rocket" box Pinto transmissions. The RWA 1634BO is used for the 4 speed SROD transmissions usually found in the 79-UP Mustang/Capri. Total thickness of this flywheel is .645". At the center where it attaches to the crankshaft it is .325" thick and the minimum thickness from the clutch face to the relief cut on the back side is .280"
  • RWA1629E 2.0/2.3 13 lbs. Light Steel Flywheel. This flywheel is perfect for to use if your track has a minimum flywheel weight rule. Double drilled for the 7.5″, 7 7/8″ and 8.5″ pressure plates. Uses 3/8″ bolts for the attachment of the pressure plate. RWA1625B-3/8. Use the 1625A flywheel bolts to attach the flywheel to the crankshaft. Does not work with the turbo 9″ or 9.25″ clutch cover plates. A longer throw out bearing is usually required for proper clutch engagement/disengagement.   • 1625B 4 cyl Pressure Plate Bolt set. Contains (6) 3/8" bolts with washers. This bolt set will NOT work on stock or Aluminium flywheels. It will only work on our 6# & 10.5# light steel flywheels.
  • RWA1625B 4 cyl Pressure Plate Bolt kit contains (6) 8mm bolts that attach your pressure plate to your stock or aluminum flywheel.
  • RWA 1609-4I is a 6 puck type and is designed for drag and road race use only. The solid hub metallic button discs are capable of withstanding the highest possible loads that can be transmitted through a disc of its size. This disc design allows fast shifting at any RPM without risk of blow-up. These discs are extremely popular where the clutch has to be slipped: drag racing, road racing from a standing start or stock car racing. An additional benefit: coefficient of friction remains very high even when the friction surfaces become contaminated.
